As far as language and style are concerned, you should consider the following guidelines: - Spelling mistakes in your CV are unforgivable. It will send out an unprofessional image of yourself as a writer and employee and is often a reason to reject your CV immediately. Please use a spell checker and get someone to proofread your CV for spelling and grammatical errors.
- Full sentences do not belong in a CV. Use short and dynamic phrases that highlight your enthousiasm for the job.
- Avoid generalisations and back statements up with specific examples.
- Use accurate words and avoid vague descriptions.
- Be careful when using abbreviations that are not widely recognised. If you use them, put an explanation between brackets the first time.
- Use action verbs to highlight your positive qualities wherever possible.
