To write a project progress report: - In the planning stage of your project, agree about which project stakeholders receive the report and how often, for example, every week
- Choose the elements that need to be communicated to your audience
- At a minimum include these elements:
- Project ID or title
- Reporting period
- Budget status
- Schedule status
- Projected completion date
- Milestones or achievements
- Issues
- Risks
- Change recommendations
- Use a succinct style so that the report can be easily and quickly read
- Use a consistent style for every report so that each report can be easily compared with previous reports and the project plan
- Use the same format for every report
